In addition to the whitetail habitat, there is also a large turkey roost on the property which usually holds 80-100 turkeys year round. Historical Note: This property was part of the Texas Ghost town of Doans. Located on the Western Trail, Jonathan Doan established a trading post in 1878 to cater to the cattle drivers passing along the trail. Currently, all that is left of this thriving 1800's town is the Adobe General Store and a Historical Marker which commemorates the trail drives and sits adjacent to the Doans Valley Ranch.
