Description of the Land
Own a part of one of the oldest and most historic ranches in Texas. The 18,811.5 acre East Forker-Gage Ranch in Brewster County is a part of the famous A.S. Gage ranching empire dating back to 1883. At the time of his death in 1928, Gage had built an operation of 10,000 head of cattle and 503,000 acres of land, mostly extending along the Southern Pacific Railroad from East of Marathon almost to Marfa, Texas. This ranch offering is the eastern-most part of that giant empire.

ACREAGE: 18,811.5 acres, more or less.

TOPOGRAPHY: Rolling hills and canyons, with elevations up to 4,300 feet.
The San Francisco Creek, China Draw and Negro Creeks run through
the ranch and support abundant cottonwoods. These creeks
normally contain live water. Additionally there are two mountain
springs, which are believed to have never gone dry.

WILDLIFE: Trophy Desert Mule Deer, Javelina, Blue Quail, Dove, and Mountain Lions.

IMPROVEMENTS: The East Forker-Gage Ranch is divided into several pastures and traps for
cattle operations. The ranch includes two sets of pens and four shallow
water wells.

TAXES: Approximate taxes $6000.00

MINERALS: In excess of 6000 acres are State Mineral Classified. The balance of the ranch
is fee minerals. Seller wishes to retain all fee minerals owned.

COMMENTS: This unique, first-time offering, is a part of what was once the
fourth largest ranch in Texas. Located just a few miles eastof Marathon,
the ranch has all the beauty and vistas of the Big Bend area, with the
added benefits of creeks and draws.
