Nine miles east of Sweetwater, on the south frontage road of IH-20. CR 221 is the south boundary. 35 miles from Abilene; 200 from Ft. Worth and 135 from Lubbock. Has been in CRP since 1987 and has superb cover and habitat for bobwhite quail. Regrowth mesquite, prickly pear, yucca, agarito provide required woody vegetation, and the native and exotic grasses and weeds provide the rest! Stinking Creek traverses the property from SW to NE. This wet-weather creek is lined with big brush that provides cover and bedding for deer and feral hogs. Wild turkeys are sometimes present in the spring. There is no surface water, but co-op water lines are along the north and south boundaries, and a meter has been installed on the north fence, with water piped to a trough for cattle and game. There are two electric transmission lines across part of the ranch.
The terrain is flat and can be driven over in a truck or ATV, even with the absence of prepared roads. There are no improvements other than the perimeter fences, which are adequate for holding livestock. There are no cross-fences. Neighbors are all in big brush.

A bobwhite call-count on 6/22/10 identified 18 different calling bobs!!! And, there is a growing deer herd, as well, as photographed at the feeder.

The CRP contract expired on Sep 30, 2010, and the land is now free for grazing, hunting, or any other uses desired. There are 167 acres with crop base that pays $1,394/yr. Grazing rights are leased, subject to sale of the property.
