If additional water is needed it can be bought at the cost of raw water. There are 4 lakes that have been built on the ranch with a full eco-systems. There are numerous surface tanks, some with springs and several miles of Mustang Creek. The ranch is approximately 13 miles north of Lake Ivie.
The Talpa Ranch has outstanding hunting opportunities. There is an abundance of Bobwhite quail on the ranch. The quail are consistantly fed year round along the roads. There are good numbers of white tail deer, turkey, and black buck antelope. The ranch has been hunted very lightly in the past years.
