Located in an area known primarily as dryland farming and grass country this highly developed irrigated farm stands out as your drive along FM 1151. The home and headquarters are 6.3 miles west of Claude on one mile of FM 1151 frontage and only 22 minutes to downtown Amarillo. Two Thousand Forty-Eight acres +/- classified as prime farmland by USDA consists of approximately 1,435 irrigated acres under center pivot, 60 acres of drip irrigation, 258 dryland acres and 295 acres of grass. The smaller pivots are approximate as follows: 2,100 feet (215 acres 600 GPM), 1,265 feet 7 towers (115 acres 400 GPM) and 1,157 feet 7 towers (96 acres 400 GPM). Additionally a 60 acre drip field has been installed.

Providing irrigation water to the farm are 15 irrigation wells in the Ogalla/Dockum Aquifer which pump from 150 GPM to 375 GPM. The owner states that the 15 irrigation wells pump approximately 2,800 GPM total. The farm could have more wells drilled to increase water production (only one well is drilled on the west section but pipeline is already in place for additional wells). The wells are all tied together with an extensive underground pipeline which also includes a booster pump to move water to the west section as well. Electricity is provided by three generators. One pivot is powered by a roto-phase and another pivot has natural gas engine powered booster pump which also turns a generator for the pivot. Two irrigation wells are powered by natural gas engines. Additionally a windmill and a solar powered pump provide stock water from two wells and there are also two lake pumps that provide irrigation water when lake water is available.

According to US Climate Data, Claude, Texas has an annual precipitation of 22.44 inches with May through August precipitation averaging 2.99 in August to 3.35 in May and June. Average high/low temperature are 91/64 in July and 49/21 in January. The elevation at the farm is 3,465 feet to 3,365 feet.

This is a showplace property in a very productive farming area. There is virtually no decline in the water table over the last 20 years making this a very stable irrigated property that will only appreciate over time. An excellent farm with a striking home like this does not come on the market very often!
