The the ranch has scattered live oak mots and nice openings for deer hunting. This is rocky limestone country with some larger live oaks in some thickets. There is some small cedar but most were killed by the drouth in 2011. Most do remain standing. The ranch is located over the hickory aquifer and has good water. It is only partly fenced. It is surrounded by big ranch country. There is minimal invasion of unwanted species of brush, like persimmon and bee weed. It is an excellent choice for the avid deer hunter and is surrounded by big ranches.
From Cherokee Texas take Farm to Market Road 501 west for 5 miles, then turn south on County Road 343 and go just over 2 miles. It is 24 miles from Llano and about 100 miles from Austin.
