The south tract is the former Celotex, Texas, a company town originally established in the early 1900's. This tract has roads on all sides, with FM 2142 on the north, FM 668 on the west and south and CR 255 on the east. This is the largest tract of this ranch with a total of 697 acres, 118 acres in cotton and the remainder in pasture. The former gypsum processing plant sits in this tract and has an existing footprint on about 120 acres of the total. 2 water towers, a large workshop, an office building and several sheds are still standing, although none have been in use for years. A variety of components, parts and debris are scattered about this portion of the land. It's an intriguing area with lots of history to explore. Definitely unique to this area!
The west tract lies south of FM 2142 and west of FM 668. It has 188 acres of land, comprised entirely of mesquite pasture. The Plasterco Lake lies in the western part of this tract and an abandoned single-family home is also included. The condition of home is unknown.
