Lots 30 and 31 of the Westview Terrace Subdivision to San Saba are surrounded by the most prestigious collection of homes in the county. These lots are located at the end of the street at the edge of town and afford a nice view of the hills surrounding San Saba to the east and south. The lots slope away from the street making the location a good candidate for a site to build an energy efficient split level home. The upper level could be built at street level complimenting the neighboring homes, and the lower level built with southeast facing windows positioned to soak up winter sunshine but not receive direct sunlight in the summer when the sun moves to the north. The protection from weather and insulation of the earth surrounding the lower level on the north and west sides will help keep temperatures constant year round and save on the heating and cooling expenses. Very few home sites in San Saba are suitable for such a clever design. Westview Terrace subdivision has restrictions, important to maintaining property values. If you are thinking about moving to San Saba and plan to build, consider this site.
Go West on Wallace Street (Hwy. 190) from the stop light at the intersection of Hwy. 16 and Hwy. 190 (Wallace Street) though San Saba to the west side of town. Turn left (south) on Westview Terrace Street. At the corner turn right (west)on West Commerce Street. Follow the street as it makes a sharp turn south and continue past a short side street (W Dry Street). The street will curve east to the end of the pavement. See sign on lots.
