Lands of America recently had $18 billion in land for sale for sale in the Lone Star State. This represents a total of 3.6 million acres of land for sale in Texas (accounting for around two percent of the state's land). The most expensive piece of land listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $250 million, while the median price for land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in Texas came in at $931,825. The average price of land and ranches for sale in Texas was $1 million. Based on comps submitted through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program last month, Texas had the most land sales. Of the 930 recorded lands sales, the total value of all completed sales was $403.0 million for all property and land sold in Texas (a seven percent increase over the previous month). The Lone Star State has over 200 public hunting areas, which include wildlife management areas, state parks and U.S. Forest Service lands. The state is also home to 191, 000 miles of rivers and streams and along with numerous lakes and reservoirs and Gulf of Mexico coastline. Land for sale in Texas includes farms, hunting land, recreational acreage and undeveloped land for future commercial or residential usage. Of Texas's 254 counties, Henderson County had the most land for sale. Texas is the second-biggest state in the United States, covering an area of 268,601 square miles (172 million acres). Of this area, 261,232 square miles (97 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 7,365 square miles comprises water.
