Internal data from Lands of America shows over $19 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Lone Star State. This represents a total of 4 million acres of land for sale in the state (accounting for around three percent of the state's land area). Of the 254 counties in Texas,
Henderson County had the most land and farms for sale. The most expensive land listed for sale in Texas on Lands of America recently was $250 million, while the average price of land and rural real estate for sale in Texas was $1 million. Based on comps submitted through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program last month, Texas had the most land sales. Of the 675 recorded land sales, the total value of all completed sales was $316 million for all property and land sold in Texas Henderson County had the most land sales recently in the state. The Lone Star State has over 200 public hunting areas, which include wildlife management areas, state parks, and U.S. Forest Service lands. The state is also home to 191,000 miles of rivers and streams, along with numerous lakes and reservoirs, and Gulf of Mexico coastline. As befits a state with excellent hunting for game including whitetail deer, dove, hog, turkey, and quail,
hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Texas. Anglers will enjoy casting for species like bass, catfish, trout, pike, walleye, and salmon on land for sale in the state.
