Based on total listings, Texas has the most land for sale on Lands of America. It also features the most acres for sale. Recent data from Lands of America records about $31 billion in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in the Lone Star State. This covers over 5,168,000 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 254 counties in the state, Comal County had the most land and farms for sale. Based on comps submitted through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program last month, Texas had the most land sales. Of the 572 recorded land sales, the total value of all completed sales was $245 million for all property and land sold in Texas (a substantial change over the previous month). Edwards County had the most land sales recently in the state. The Lone Star State has over 200 public hunting areas, which include wildlife management areas, state parks, and U.S. Forest Service lands. The state is also home to 191, 000 miles of rivers and streams, along with numerous lakes and reservoirs, and Gulf of Mexico coastline. Of this area, 261,232 square miles of the state is land, while the remaining 7,365 square miles is covered by water.
