The Rolling Plains region of Texas extends from the eastern edge of the Panhandle into the southwestern counties of North Central Texas and as far south as San Angelo. Much of the Rolling Plains today can be described as a mesquite-shortgrass savanna, while the stream-fed floodplains nurture various species of hardwood trees. Crop and livestock production are the key agricultural drivers for the region.
