Based on total listings, Texas has the most land for sale on Lands of America. It also features the most acres for sale. Recent internal data shows about $30 billion in land and other rural acreage for sale in the Lone Star State, which comprises a total of 5 million acres of Texas land for sale. Of Texas's 254 counties, Comal County had the most rural property and land for sale. Based on comps submitted through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program last month, Texas had the most land sales. Of the 575 recorded land sales, the total value of all completed sales was $254 million for all property and land sold in Texas (a five percent decrease over the month before). The most land sales in the state last month were recorded in Ellis County. The Lone Star State has over 200 public hunting areas, which include wildlife management areas, state parks, and U.S. Forest Service lands. The state is also home to 191,000 miles of rivers and streams, along with numerous lakes and reservoirs, and Gulf of Mexico coastline. Texas is the second-biggest state in the United States, covering an area of 268,601 square miles (172 million acres). In total, 261,232 square miles is land, while the remaining 7,365 square miles is covered by water.
