The ranch lies just off the caprock in an area known as the Croton Breaks, formed by Croton Creek and its tributaries. The ranch has fantastic topography ranging from a high point on the west end of 2,360 to a low of 2,050 where Croton Creek exits the ranch on the east boundary. This dramatic elevation provides numerous vistas with views for miles in all directions.
The ranch measures 3 miles east to west, and 2.25 miles north to south at its widest point. The ranches shape and topography give it a much bigger feel than it actually measures. The plant community is predominantly redberry juniper (cedar) with scattered mesquites, and a few hardwoods along water courses.
