Most of the ranch has gentle rolling terrain and the soil types are mostly Kimbrough-Tarrant, which is a dark gray colored soil that is usually shallow on the ridges and slopes, and deep in the draws and flats. It is the grower of excellent edible brushes and trees, and of a very wide variety of good native grasses. The soils are mellow and rich in nutrients and minerals, and the plant life that is produced is rich and strong when consumed by animals. It is widely known and recognized as being very strong and very productive, and animals grazed on it are large, strong and usually fat. These are the brushes that make this area famous as being part of the Brush Country. The basic grasses that are predominant in this area are vine mesquite, running buffalo, side oats grama, tangle head, pink pappus, green sprangletop, love, crowfoot, red grama, six weeks grama, Texas bristle, three-awn, Arizona cottontop, and others. Many of these grasses are of the climax variety, and are especially strong in vitamins and nutrients. These native grasses are strong and desirable when eaten, and they, along with the strong brushes, combine to produce very desirable food and fattening grazing and browsing. They are what makes the South Texas Brush Country famous.... It is Strong in Everything for animals. A small percentage of the minerals are available with the property. The percentage of minerals to be conveyed is dependent upon the price paid for the property. The east neighbor is 640 acres in size and the north neighbor is a large ranch, as well.
