Habitat and Wildlife: The JAG Ranch features some of the best habitat in South Texas and certainly in Duval County. While many properties in the area are comprised of mostly shallow, caliche type soils and low brush, this ranch features tremendously strong bottom country ( over 50% of the ranch) with darker/heavier soil, big Mesquites, a wide variety of Native Brush species and thick stands of heavy Buffel Grass.
